Therapy with Hannah
Alternatively, despite your best efforts, perhaps your child’s symptoms have intensified, leading them to engage in high-risk behaviours such as self-harming, not eating, eating too much, missing school, or expressing thoughts of suicide? Maybe you are aware that your child has experienced a recent trauma, bereavement, or significant life event, or perhaps it feels as though these symptoms have emerged completely out of the blue?
As a parent/carer, perhaps you are experiencing an all-consuming worry for your child, which is beginning to dominate your every thought? Perhaps you find yourself cancelling social plans, not sleeping or eating properly, struggling to maintain a work-life balance, or neglecting your own emotional needs to care for your child?
If that is the case, I would like to reassure you that you are in exactly the right place. By seeking mental health support for your child, you are not only demonstrating incredible strength and commitment as a parent/carer, but you are also showcasing remarkable love and advocacy by prioritising your child’s wellbeing, growth, and happiness. I appreciate that it can be worrying and scary to know that your child is struggling, and that it can be extremely daunting when you don’t know who to turn to for support.
Therefore, I would like to warmly welcome you to Therapy with Hannah, where we can figure it out together!
At Therapy with Hannah, my specialisation lies in providing therapeutic support to children and adolescents who have either been diagnosed with an eating disorder, or who are presenting with atypical eating patterns and/ or an altered self-image. I aim to foster a healthier, more balanced, approach to their eating habits, self-esteem, and overall well-being. My support extends to include disordered eating and the following diagnoses: Anorexia nervosa (AN), bulimia nervosa (BN), binge eating disorder (BED), avoidant-restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID), orthorexia nervosa (ON), other specified feeding or eating disorder (OSFED), and obesity.
As a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I specialise in offering dedicated support to young individuals who are exploring their gender and/or sexuality. My personal journey enhances my ability to create an inclusive and affirming space, where your child can confidently explore and express their identity, perspective, and values, and ultimately feel acknowledged, respected, and accepted.
As a dedicated child and adolescent therapist, I also offer comprehensive therapeutic support across a broad spectrum of difficulties and diagnoses. Whether your child is experiencing emotional struggles, is facing difficulties in various aspects of their life, or has recently received a diagnosis, I aim to provide individualised support that empowers your child to flourish and grow.
